Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.

Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.

The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.

Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.

You know when I said that DEITY was the best Covenant book and I didn't know how anything could top it, well now I'm just eating my words because APOLLYON oh my gosh just pushed DEITY into a faraway place never to be seen again. Ha. But seriously, just when you think something is JLA's best work, another book of hers get released and then THAT becomes her best work. I don't know how she does it but wow I'm so proud of my favourite author. *bows*

I've always been such a fan of Greek Mythology and I love how JLA incorporated that into the story. We see and meet a lot more gods in APOLLYON (YES!) and I hope to see a lot more in the last book! Can't get enough of the gods, yo!

ALEX! I seriously adored Alex in this book. If you've read my past reviews of the first three books, I found Alex a really annoying, indecisive, spoiled brat but in APOLLYON, she matures and makes (usually) the right choices. For me, what she lacked in the previous books totally makes up for in this. She's loyal, snarky, has a really big heart, and selfless. She always thinks of others. Not to mention her narration is frigging hilarious.

WHOA. I need a cold shower after this. The romance between Alex and Aiden really steps up and oh my gosh do we get some sexy scenes!! The Underworld scenes *DIES* Those two are at it like rabbits! LOL not that I was complaining. Anyway, their love for each even grows and just when you think you couldn't fall in love with Aiden a little bit more, you do. I'll be honest here, Aiden has never been my top JLA boy and probably never will be, but now I can see why a LOT of people love him. With APOLLYON, he shows us different sides to him that we don't know and it was just refreshing to see.

We all know I hate Seth, right? Yes I do and I was so goddamn happy when I was reading a book and Seth was barely in it. Like, just a tiny little bit. I know a lot of readers think there's still hope for him and redemption, but to be honest I just want to kick his ass. HATE HIM.

I will cry so much in the last book since I just can't imagine letting go of this cast of characters. Alex, Aiden, Deacon, Luke, Apollo and everyone I just can't bear to not read about them again. I know they're not all going to survive the next book but *sniff* I'm just hoping. I loved reading about them working as a group and like they're a family. And Marcus, I love ya dude!!

Obviously this wouldn't be a JLA novel without non-stop action, suprising twists and secrets. When the enemy was revealed, my mouth was hanging open. I was like WHAAAAA?? How did I not guess that?!? Maybe coz I was so distracted by Aiden but yeah, if you look hard enough, there are some hints but I thought it was all wonderfully done. And there was literally non-stop action, I was so worried for them that my heart was beating so fast haha.

There's so many of my favourite scenes that take place -  where they meet the special someone, the Alex and Ladaan scenes, but the Underworld scenes are probably my favourite one, and I can honestly say this is the best Covenant book so far in my opinion and no doubt that Sentinel will be even better. Jennifer just keeps getting better with each book in the series!

This book will no doubt make you laugh (hey, this is JLA after all), giggle uncontrollably, swoooooon and of course, there are also touching scenes that will make you cry. My favourite author ever Jennifer L. Armentrout is the queen of YA (and NA and Adult) and she is slowly taking over the publishing world. You'd be crazy not to read any of her books. :)
