Tell Me When

BLOG TOUR - MY REVIEW

Tell Me When really surprised me. In a good way, of course! I really wasn't expecting this type of story that's so incredible and real and just heartwrenching. This New Adult story is powerful, raw and unputdownable. The author somehow manages to create a contemporary college romance (among other thins) that we haven't seen before.

If you've read the synopsis, you'd know that one of the main themes is stalking. Stina highlighted an issue that we don't really see or heard a lot of but it's there. And it happens in real life. Now, this book deals with the consequences and it actually broke my heart when I read about what Amber had gone through. I hated the person and I wish that it could have been prevented. I think everyone should read this book as the message is very important and needed.

Another aspect that I loved was the two main characters, especially Marcus. His backstory was so well done and developed. I admire how the two main characters weren't your typical NA characters (not that I have anything against those, it's just that sometimes it's nice to see other types) and they really do set apart from other couples. I felt sorry for Amber most of the time but I admired her for trying to pick up the pieces of her life and just move on. Marcus was my favourite. Let's just say he is another book boyfriend.

I pretty much loved the plot, it was so addictive and moving. The only reason why this wasn't a five star read was one thing the heroine admitted. I was just like, WHAT THE HELL? Maybe I misunderstood it or whatever but I just couldn't help thinking, why would you do that??' Argh. Very frustrating to love a book and then something is revealed and BAM. Five star rating gone. Oh well. That wasn't enough for me to not enjoy the book, and I would still verry highly recommend this to all readers who love a realistic romance suspence novel.

The author Stina Lindenblatt is definitely going on my auto-buy list as I will read any book she publish after this very impressive debut. I am looking forward to whatever she has planned next but hopefully we'll still see Amber and Marcus! :)

ABOUT THE BOOK

Amber Scott should be enjoying life as a college freshman. She should be pursuing her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She should be working hard to make sense of her precalculus math class.

She shouldn't be waking up her college roommate with screaming nightmares. She shouldn't be flashing back, reliving the three weeks of hell she barely survived last year. And she definitely shouldn't be spending time with sexy player Marcus Reid.

But engineering student Marcus is the only one keeping Amber from failing her math course, so she grudgingly lets him into her life. She never expects the king of hookups will share his painful past. Or that she'll tell him her secrets in return, opening up and trusting him in a way she thought she'd never be able to again.

When their fragile future together is threatened by a stalker Amber thought was locked away for good, Marcus is determined to protect her—and Amber is determined to protect Marcus…even if that means pushing him away.
